It’s hard to believe, but Tailo is officially one year old! Since launching in July 2024, Tailo has been transforming how disabled students engage with academic reading, thanks to the support of Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) Needs Assessors across the UK.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with the DSA community to grow Tailo into an award-winning, student-loved platform. We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come – and even more excited about where we’re headed next.
🧠 Why Tailo Was Built
For many neurodivergent and disabled students, academic reading can be overwhelming. Dense language, inconsistent formatting, and inaccessible research articles often stand in the way of understanding and progress.
Tailo was built to change that.
As an AI-powered reading tool, Tailo transforms academic papers into clean, consistent formats and allows students to:
